P.F.A.

Welcome to the Parents Friends Association

WHAT IS THE P.F.A…. AND WHY SHOULD I HELP?

The Parent and Friends Association is here to raise funds to help the school enrich the learning experiences of the pupils.

Of course, schools are already funded by the government, but we all know that this is an over-stretched pot.

The little extras that make school life more enjoyable for your child are the first things to disappear. That’s where the P.FA comes in!

We organise events and fundraising so that staff can buy those things that make our children’s school experience outstanding, by allowing the school to buy extra resources, equipment and access to trips and workshops. The P.F.A also contributes towards the cost of buses/transport for school trips to help keep costs low for parents-especially in this tough economic climate.

So, what is involved in helping the P.F.A? Well it actually requires very little commitment from individuals. We hold informal meetings in the village once every term, with extra meetings prior to an event. We also have a 'Whatsapp' group to keep in touch in between meetings and events.  At meetings, we discuss event ideas and planning towards them, how previous fundraising has gone and how the money we raised will be spent. For parents, it’s a fantastic opportunity to get to know other PFA members, make new friends and above all, get involved with your child’s school!

Even if you can’t make the meetings, don’t be afraid to offer the smallest bit of help as our committee isn’t huge. Providing for a cake sale, manning a stall at an event or even giving up a few minutes to help tidy up after an event is a massive help. It may not seem much, but it makes a big difference!

Please remember, the P.F.A. isn’t about an individual, or a group; it’s for the benefit of all our children!
