International Week

The children have had a FANTASTIC International Week learning all about their class country and enjoying enrichment activities — various sports and dance workshops.
The children have had a FANTASTIC International Week learning all about their class country and enjoying enrichment activities — various sports and dance workshops.
Foundation: England and the USA— The children have been on a walk around the village, - comparing it to other areas, they have looked at maps of the world and on Friday afternoon they upheld the Great British tradition of afternoon tea.
Year 1: Mexico—The children made maracas, decorated Mexican plates, tasted exotic fruits and have been looking at stories from that region.
Year 2: Brazil—The children have learnt traditional games from Brazil, such as, Sick Cat (a tag game), they have been on a Clue Hunt and completed fact sheets on their country and researched the Amazon Rainforest where they had to decide what they would pack into a suitcase if they visited the Amazon.
Year 3: Russia—The children have been researching the traditions, toys and games and have made Matryoshka Dolls (Russian dolls that stack inside one another) as a cross-curricular link to writing and mathematics.
Year 4: Ghana— The children have been looking at texts from Ghana, they have made African masks and created a slideshow on Ghana.
