Mental Health and Well-being

Staff at KCEPS have received training in understanding mental health and mental illness.

Staff have become equipped to support pupils and teach awareness of what constitutes mental illness in all its forms thus reducing the stigma surrounding it. As a result, this allows greater empathy from staff towards pupils and pupils towards their peers, recognising symptoms in themselves and others. It also gives teachers the knowledge to not only look after themselves, but to also support and teach pupils how to develop and look after their mental health. This is especially important in an age where there is so much pressure on young people from multiple sources such as social media.
